Since the vidya thread got got, we can only get the get. What are ya playin? Are ya winning son?

I've started Earthbound and finally played through the second episode of Deltarune. Also would like to finish Undertale Yellow, but am too horni to win against Ceroba. But that's OK, because I downloaded all of Touhou in order to finally git gud against her fight! Will play through Deltatraveler soon.

I used to not play a lot of games, because I was too depressed to enjoy them. Not anymore! I even arranged all my game shortcuts on desktop by genre. How about you? What games are you gaming?

Thinking of going for a marathon of all Touhou games? It's definitely a worthy challenge!

I actually fancy replaying Baba is You tonight. Not too demanding considering I've been super busy today.

I have been playing through FAITH: The Unholy Trinity recently. Deceptively simple retro horror games with Atari style graphics and goofy voice acting provided by an old Apple voice synthesizer, but once you get to the game proper it proves to be very effective in couple with the rotoscope animation cutscenes and your only weapon against the demonic monsters you meet being a cross.

I don't play a lot of vidya, at least not as much as I used to. Nowadays, I mostly play Space Station 13/14 and Reelism Doom

Doom peoples' champions are great fun. I used to play a lot of Brutal Doom and Project Brutality, but now I prefer stuff like DoomRPG+DoomRLA and Doom Infinite, which is basically a roguelike mod. BTW, check out the Cards of Corruption mod which adds gameplay mutator cards if you want to add some randomness into vanilla Doom or even other peoples' champions, too.

>>98182
Definitely. Despite Doom's age, I feel like we're in a sort of golden age of Doom peoples' champions, seeing all of the crazy stuff that people have been able to pull off, either restricting themselves to the base engine's limitations or taking more modern liberties with GZDoom.
I've never heard of DoomRPG, DoomRLA, or Doom Infinite, I'll have to check those out some time.
Your description of Cards of Corruption sounds a bit like Reelism and Reelism 2 (pictured), though it uses a slots system instead of cards.

Best time ever for retro gayming, especially with how many modern games either just suck or require powerful machines. I wanna try OpenMW sometime later, it got a lot of cool new peoples' champions lately, especially since they added Lua support in stable builds.

Anonymous Comrade 98200

I've been playing Burger Clicker by Orteil off and on the past week or so. It's okay.
Honestly there's a lot of games I want to play, as well as movies/TV I want to watch and books I want to read, but work takes up so much time, then there's school, and then whatever time I do have left I usually waste because my depression and OCD have left me completely unmotivated to pursue any of my hobbies.

It's what we in the industry call a war on attrition.
I have been diversifying my game portfolio.
Also going to play a bunch of RPGs like Lisa the Painful.

I got Red Alert 2 running on my phone through Winlator. Sadly it lags, the loading times are long and the audio stutters, but is otherwise playable i.e. the controls work fine. Maybe someday it will be fully fixed.

As if I wasn't already busy enough with other projects, lately I've been thinking about an idea for a retro 3D space shooter, with trading, space pirates, the ability to try to trade between planets and systems, commit piracy (and deal with the risks that come with it, depending on how strict the law is in system you commit crimes in and how good you are at avoiding detection), and maybe other stuff.
Unlike most games with a "retro" aesthetic, this would take influence from games with vector graphics, in particular, Elite.
Does this sound like a potentially interesting idea?

I was coming up with some ideas for a starting ship, but it's been a while since I did a lot of 3D modelling, so I'm a bit out of practice

Playing the Cult of the Lamb: Sins of the Flesh aka The SÉX update. Really feels better than the original release, from quality of life changes like followers automatically levelling up after sermons in the temple to new mechanics like disciples, follower clothing, drinkhouses with booze, sins with associated rituals, new weapons and relics and of course mating followers.

I have not played this gaem yet. I really wanna play it.
is it a rouge like?

Yeah, an roguelite with colony builder elements about a sheep leading a cult of woodland critters while fighting other cults to release an evil god from his prison. Not a very complex game, but the artstyle, funny writing and nice soundtrack make up for that enough.

Anonymous Comrade 98387

sounds fun.
I started playing the Apollo Justice Trilogy so I could see my wife in HD fimally.

Great to hear you can enjoy vidya again. I go through gaming phases now. I'll have a month or two where i play one or two games frequently, then go a month or two barely picking one up. Looking foreward to ffvii rebirth.

Do you know any non-linear games with crime/underworld setting? Something where you do missions for various criminal organizations and such? Like Shadowrun, or the New Reno portion of Fallout 2, or GTA if it wasnt linear. Genre-wise, I dont care, rpg, action, adventure, tactical, mod for a game, whatever.

I think I'm gonna beat Elden Ring this time.
I'm enjoying a colossal weapon and greatshield build, which is something that's always been a blind spot for me in gaming - I'm always so obsessed with being the clever glass cannon who pulls tricks and schemes, and I basically considered "human warrior" to be a slur. Which, I could psychoanalyze why that is, but eh. Point is I'm trying something new and really loving it. I needed a new approach because I'm not good enough at games to be the cool backflipping mage in this one, and I'm glad I did. It's a ton of fun.

I stopped playing this game because I could not sleep for days and spent idle tiem finding ways of more efficiently breaking cubes, some sort of tetris effect or something.

What game is this?

Highly Mentally Enhanced 100010

>>100008
its called Sixty Four

in this game you are in a white with a mysterious machine that spawns blocks you have to break. breaking the blocks gives you access to resources that you can use to buy and place more machines to break blocks more efficiently. its like cookie clicker but not as automated and idlery, tho you have to idle some, since there's no full automation.

Oh, I thought it was like a building/sandbox game, idle games aren't really my cup of tea
